Chapter 3: The Office

You step out of the elevator into a dimly lit hallway. The walls are lined with portraits of former employees, their faces rendered in an antiquated style from a bygone era. As you walk, their eyes seem to follow your every move. At the end of the hall, you find your office, the brass number "13" glinting faintly in the flickering light.

The door creaks as it swings open, revealing a room steeped in shadow. A single candle flickers on your desk, its light casting long, dancing shapes across the walls. At the center of the desk lies a leather-bound book. You pick it up, noting the title embossed in gold: The Secrets of Ragbran Toft. As you open the cover, the words on the page seem to writhe and twist unnaturally. Suddenly, the shadows in the room stir, coalescing into the shape of a dark figure.

Do you:

Confront the figure and demand to know its intentions?

Flee the office and seek help?
